1. Fast decor is invading the market
The disposable culture reigns supreme, standardizing our interiors with cheap, often unsustainable products. The result? Every year, 1,259,500 tons of furniture are discarded in France, equivalent to 25 cruise ships.
Moreover, production, often outsourced, leads to social injustices and indoor pollution due to non-compliant finishes.
2. An ecological aberration
Our household equipment, although necessary, has a heavy impact on the planet. Each household owns an average of 2.5 tons of equipment, but their manufacturing uses 45 tons of raw materials and emits 6 tons of CO₂, equivalent to six round trips from Paris to New York.
Only 2.2% of furniture is reused as is, but the 2020 Agec law encourages new progress in recycling.
3. The circular economy, an essential solution
The circular economy offers a sustainable alternative. By reusing existing materials instead of exploiting new resources, we significantly reduce our ecological footprint. More and more actors are committing to this approach, transforming waste into useful furniture and objects.
